Long overdue update!
Life has been busy and this poor blog reflects that. In honor of Miss Ella's 15 month "birthday" tomorrow, I thought I'd share some updates on milestones and such.
Ella started full on walking about a week or two after her birthday. Of course now she is fully running and climbing and dancing up a storm. Any and all music is the only cue she needs to start dancing. It is so cute.
Her 12 month checkup was actually 7/21/09 and she was 20 lbs, 8 oz and 30 inches tall. She surprisingly tolerated the finger prick lead and hemoglobin tests quite well, but was not a fan of having a band aid on her little finger!
First sick doctor's visit ever was 9/1/09 and she weighed in at 21 lbs, 12 oz. Went in for a rash on her leg and were told it was atopic dermatitis (eczema). Have started using California Baby Everyday Calendula Lotion (love, love all their products!) and it has pretty much gone away completely.
She also has all of her baby teeth now besides her top left canine and (obviously) her 2 year molars. We were in a cycle of extreme crankiness around here for awhile while all 3 canines came in at once, but things seem to be improving.
Her obsession with her baby dolls also continues. She pretty much has one of the 3 she owns at all time. She LOVES to pile them all in the doll stroller or shopping cart and push them around. She also hugs them tight to her chest and pats them on the back, which totally melts my heart. It is the sweetest thing. Of course two minutes later she is smacking them on the floor by their arm, but we'll take the sweetness where we can get it.
She is also starting to really love books. She only sits still for approximately 3 pages, but she is constantly bringing us books and even sitting down on her own and looking through them. She is getting WAY too grown up!
Her vocabulary continues to increase, which is also always amusing. She says Mama or Mom all.the.time., for pretty much anything she wants or needs. She also says Dada, woof, eye (while poking you in the eye), NO!, bawk bawk (like a chicken), E-I-E-I-O, Woah!, Yum (when she wants to eat), Lo Lo Lo (not sure what this means but it's cute), and of course baby. I asked her to say bird yesterday and she said, "B-b-baby!".
She has continued to sleep about 12 hours at night, usually about 7-7 give or take an hour on either end, either way. We had a few rough nights during teething but *knock on wood* things have been pretty good lately. She's also still taking two 1-2 hours naps per day. I know she's not ready to drop one yet because of the meltdown that ensues when she misses either of them.
It's unbelievable how much things have changed in the last 15 months. I feel like it was just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with her and now here we are 2 years later!
